As a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) with the United Nations, the School Sisters of Notre Dame work to affect positive change by participating in United Nations meetings and activities, such as the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The School Sisters of Notre Dame also have Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC, which provides them with the opportunity to submit statements for consideration by the U.N. secretary general and the CSW.
