Many parts of the United States and Canada are currently in the grips of a polar vortex. This means people living in the affected areas are experiencing arctic temperatures and large amounts of snow.
Since no one does cold weather better than Canadians, let's "celebrate" the polar vortex with photos of students from Notre Dame Academy and candidates from Notre Dame Convent in Waterdown, Ontario enjoying the winter weather.
Pictured are a few scenes from 1928 until the early 1930s and show the students enjoying winter sports such as "snowballing," sledding, skiing and building snowmen. There is also a photo of candidates ice skating - notice that they are not wearing coats!
