The power of prayer and forgiveness

“We discern as a congregation which urgent and critical global concerns we are called to address and we dare to respond boldly in unsuspected ways.” (YAS, C 17; GD 36-38)

The coronavirus pandemic is a global concern for me at this moment since it is affecting the whole world. Hence, we need healing. The action I have taken is to pray deeply, get in touch with Mother Earth and also reconcile families through restorative justice on issues that are affecting them at this moment.

My reflection is a poetic prayer to which I have also composed music:

The power of prayer and forgiveness

Is to let Jesus takes control of our lives
Is to forgive unconditionally and let God take control
Is to come before God accepting ourselves as creature blessed and broken

The power of prayer and forgiveness

Is to live one day at a time in the midst of all the circumstances
Is to listen to the cry of our world and respond in love and compassion
Is to reach out with our gifts to those who are wounded

The power of prayer and forgiveness

Is to offer our totality to God unconditionally
Is to get in touch with self and the surrounding
Is to embrace all for the sake of mission of Christ.

The power of prayer and forgiveness
