Sister Miriam Patrick Cummings receives Servant of God Award

Sister Miriam Patrick Cummings was presented the Servant of God Father Tolton Award by Bishop Perry, Episcopal Vicar for the Vicariate VI of the Archdiocese of Chicago and Monsignor Boland, president and chief executive officer of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, at the Catholic Charity's Compassion in Action dinner on Feb. 23.

The award honors Sister Miriam Patrick who has helped support Catholic Charity's mission in the south Chicago suburbs and emulates Father Tolton's struggle for social justice and dignity of life. Sister Pat thanked Catholic Charities and said, "the award belongs to my family - my religious family, parish family, Coràzon family, the long-time friends and the hundreds with whom and for whom I've ministered. You have taught me and formed me over the years and I am forever grateful."
