“I was no prophet, nor have I belonged to a company of prophets; I was a shepherd and a dresser of sycamores. The Lord took me in from following the flock, and said to me, Go, prophesy to my people Israel.”
– AMOS 7:14-15
It is not an easy thing to hear, “Go.” It is our desire to stay in our comfort zone and here you are telling us to “Go.” Go and make a difference in this house, this community, this world. Go and awaken people to the injustices that abound. Go and listen to the marginalized. Go and tend my sheep. Now, Go and rest awhile.
When it feels frightening to continue on this road named “Go,” I recall that you are with me. You will be near. You will be.
Beloved, where would you have me Go today?
