"Let us, in these days especially, go to the crib of Jesus with the poor shepherds and the holy wise men. With them let us also offer homage and sacrifice to him, so that we may share in the peace of God which the angels announced to all of good will on the fields of Bethlehem."
- Blessed Theresa Gerhardinger, Foundress
SSND Nativity Scenes on Display for Season
During this season, we see many such cribs where School Sisters of Notre Dame live and minister throughout the world. Whether stitched from yarn, woven from banana leaves or crafted from fine porcelain, the enduring tradition of the Nativity displays provides a powerful image for us all.
Be they humble or elaborate, these scenes illustrate the beautiful Christmas story, nourish the soul and evoke the spirit of oneness for which Jesus Christ was sent and for which the School Sisters of Notre Dame daily direct their lives. The images we share here were collected over the past several years from SSND campuses and ministries throughout the world.
