The School Sisters of Notre Dame reflect our commitment to peace and non-violence through how we live, pray, educate, give public witness, and engage in our various ministries.  SSNDs often challenge our governments to address security concerns through peaceful and non-violent means. 

Around the world, SSNDs commemorate the International Day of Peace, September 21, in a variety of ways - sometimes leading public prayer services. 

In January 2006, the congregation initiated a perpetual prayer for peace, which is still going today! Learn more about our Perpetual Prayer for Peace.
