Alternative Gift Giving
Surprise your friends and relatives with the gift of a water, roofing or a nutrition project. Help educate your family and friends to alternative giving that truly helps bring basic necessities to others. Global Partners Running Waters, Inc. (GPRW) is a nonprofit organization established to build relationships through collaboration on water and food projects in Latin America. Its roots lie in the mission experiences of Sister Jan Gregorcich, SSND, who lived and worked with the people of Guatemala and Honduras during a period of 12 years. Global Partners offers three opportunities for alternative gifts. Click HERE for more information about the giving program.
COOKING: A CELEBRATION OF EARTH'S GIFTS
This cookbook was produced in conjunction with the 175th Anniversary of the congregation on October 24, 2008, and is a celebration of SSND past and present. The book includes favorite recipes of SSNDs and Associates from North America, Japan, Kenya and The Gambia, as well as recipes from two previously published SSND cookbooks. The book also includes interesting food facts, poetry from several SSNDs, household hints, prayers, information about SSND Earth-centered ministries and quotes from SSND Foundress Blessed Theresa Gerhardinger. All these invite readers to think about the food they eat as it relates to their relationships with each other, the Earth and all creation.

Celestial
Banquet
“Celestial
Banquet” is an organ music CD recorded from the historic
Johnson & Son Organ, Opus 499, in the Chapel of Our Lady
of Good Counsel, Mankato, Minn. The recording includes performances
by Sisters Elaine Fraher, Janis Haustein, Carol Marie Hemish,
Lucille Matousek, and Helen Marie Plourde.
The Johnson Opus 499 was built in 1877 for St. Mary of the
Sacred Heart Church in Boston. When St. Mary’s building
was slated for demolition in 1975, the School Sisters of Notre
Dame rescued the organ and placed it in the chapel of their
provincial house in Mankato. In 1994, the sisters committed
themselves to a restoration of the organ, which comprises 45
stops and 2,995 pipes.
The CD is available for $15. For more information or to order
